The Princess Festival

My niece Eileen is Cinderella at the Princess Festival this year and she was nice enough to get Hazel a ticket.
As I was getting Hazel ready she kept telling me she needed to be the prettiest princess there. This put a lot of pressure on me to make sure she felt like the prettiest princess there. I had her pick out a dress from our dress up clothes ( my old dance costumes), she picked out a purple one that I had worn my last year of dance, it was pretty big so I had to fix it a little but I think she looked beautiful in it. Kati helped me do her hair and after a little make up and a lot of glitter she was done

We met up with Stephanie (Eileen's mom, Isaac's sister) and went to the Festival. Stephanie got Hazel a ticket to do a craft and Hazel picked out the wand to make.

All done.

Then we got to see Eileen aka Cinderella. Hazel was excited although she was being really shy. She loves Cinderella and Eileen made a beautiful Cinderella.
We watched Cinderellas show. It was really cute and they interacted with the little girls.

We went outside for the ball.

The step mother came and asked Hazel who was dancing with the prince.

I heard a rumor that the romance between Cinderella and Prince Charming wasn't just acting ;)

Hazel at first was really shy and didn't want to do anything but after a while she warmed up and really got into it. All of the princesses and princes called her Princess Hazel, it made her feel so special. She asked me how they all knew her name, she was wearing a name tag but I just told her she was so special they all knew her name. She liked that.

Beauty and the Beast
The Beast freaked Hazel out a little

But Beauty let her sit on her lap and she felt much better.

And the Beast gave her a rose to hold for the picture
Hazel said she wanted to go see the mermaid so we went over there and I discovered she really just wanted to play in the water. I promised her we would come back and play in it before we left.

Hazel dancing with the 12 Dancing Princesses
As we were having the 12 Dancing Princess autograph Hazel's book I told Hazel I thought we had seen everything and it was time to go and then a little girl came up dressed as Snow White and one of the Princesses asked her if she had seen Snow White yet and the little girl said yes. Hazel looked at me all stressed, WE HAD NOT SEEN SNOW WHITE! Looking at the map I discovered a whole section we had missed.

Princess and the Frog

She couldn't resist the frogs pond

She got almost everyones autograph

I kept my promise and let her go back to where the mermaid was to play in the water. By then it was almost over and most of the characters were there too getting their feet wet trying to cool off.

And her carriage arrived to take her home :)

While we were at the Princess Festival Isaac took the boys to the Dinosaur Museum and did boy stuff.
