Stephanie (Isaac's sister) and Jared were nice enough to give us two twin beds that they had. Thanks Stephanie and Jared!
The twins room is decorated in Where the Wild Things Are so I decided to make Wild Things quilts for the beds. I looked for fabric but there is no Where the wild things are fabric so I had to get creative. I like to make quilts out of sheets because it is cheaper and then you can get the sheets for the bed to match the quilt.

Then I started cutting out the squares.

For the pictures on the quilt I scanned the pictures from the book onto the computer edited all the back ground out because i thought it would look better that way. Then I printed them out onto iron on transfer paper and ironed them onto some of the white squares. Then I sewed the quilt together.
Anyways I thought the quilts turned out really really cute.
We attempted to put them down for a nap in the beds but they never went to sleep. They did find a tube of diaper rash cream and made a mess. You can see a little of that on the quilts in the pictures.
At bed time I was on my own because Isaac had to work. It took me over 3 hours to get them to sleep, I was so frustrated. But they looked so cute asleep in their beds.
Today we had our first success at nap time in the beds. We took them for a walk to wear them out and then fed them lunch and put them to bed. I was so excited when it finally went quiet in their room. I went in to make sure they were ok and found Evan asleep like this. . .

They are currently in bed right now and I keep hearing them giggle. I don't think they are going to sleep.

Jessi-
You are amazing! How do you have time to sew quilts...My life is such a circus especially with my 3 monkeys, I barely have time to pee. How long did it take you to make those adorable quilts??
After the kids go to sleep I try to relax and have some me time and work on a fun project. My craft projects are probably the only thing that is keeping me sane. I try to make sure I always have one to work on. It took me probably about 4 or 5 months to do the quilts because I only had like an hour or two a night to work on them. I admit Evan's is not all the way done but we needed to get them into beds. I was doing a chain stitch with crochet thread around the edges to reinforce them and for decoration and I haven't finished it. I plan on stealing it one night and finish it up.
Wow-I don't know how you have energy at the end of the day, though I know what you mean about trying to do things in the quiet of the evening, my problem is I love staying up to 1 or 2 in the morning and regret it when the kids wake up. You do so many fun thinks-love the photos, we went to the fair, 1st time mere fully enjoyed the carousel, and a couple other rides (other times on a carousal she was a little worried or thinking of things around her rather than the ride. Now she talks about riding the train and the car. I love the quilts-especially the green. yep, sheets are great :) You're due sooo soon! Anything you need for this babe?
do the boys leave their room now?
we have pretty much everything we need because we have already had one girl. I just had to get some new binkis and diapers. I really need to get stuff out and wash it now.
The twins bedroom door sticks really bad so they can't open that door so they are pretty much locked in. They get out of bed in the morning and knock on the door and yell for Hazel because they know she is more likely to come open it for them faster.
