Last Saturday Evan had a very bad day. It started out all right but then at nap time he wouldn't go to sleep. So he was tired and grumpy. Then we decided to take the kids on a walk so we brought the kids upstairs and I set Evan down so I could get the stroller set up. Evan went running through the kitchen tripped over the dog bowel and fell into the container I keep the dog food in. It only took me a second to get over to him but he already had blood dripping down his chin. He had totally split his lip open. It was awful! I thought for sure we would have to go to the emergency room for stitches but I got the bleeding to stop pretty quick. I gave him (and Erick) Popsicles to help with the swelling and we took the kids outside in the backyard.

Evan sat on Isaac's lap for a while but then decided he wanted to get down and play. I sat down and had a little breakdown. I hate, hate, hate, seeing my kids bleed. And that was a lot of blood. I do fine in an emergency but I always freak out afterward. Anyways I noticed Evan's lip was still oozing a little blood so I ran inside to grab a towel to wipe it and then as I walked out Evan tripped and smacked his head on the cement. So he had a nice bruise on his forehead. Luckely we got through the rest of the day with no more injuries. We went to church the next day and I had to explain to the nursery leader that we don't beat our children.
