Delilah's Birth Day

On the morning of the 27th I woke up at 4am and couldn't go back to sleep, I was nervous can you blame me. We had to be at the hospital at 7am so we woke the kids up and just put them in the car in their jammies and gave them breakfast to eat in the car. We met my mom and Kati at the hospital. Carlye and Jaxen got there a little later. My nurse was super nice and arranged it so Carlye could come in to the operating room to take pictures. Carlye and Isaac got all dressed and I sat hooked up to monitors stressing.

Then they came and took me to the operating room. I think it is so scary to walk into that room and climb up on the table. While I was getting my spinal block I was shaking so bad, partly because I was really scared and because it was freaking cold in there. They got me all set up and then they brought in Isaac and Carlye.
I was really nervous so I didn't talk much through the whole thing, I just wanted to lay there and go to my happy place. Carlye and Isaac kept trying to talk to me I think to help me relax but I didn't want to talk.

Finally I got to hear the best sound in the world, that gurgly little first cry. Seriously there is no better sound than the first cry of your baby.

I guess some people thought this picture was gross but I like it. That is my baby's first few seconds of life.

Delilah was a little blue when she came out and needed some oxygen but other than that she was perfect.

They took Delilah to the nursery while the put me back together. I learned something about c sections that I am glad I found out about after it was over. Lets just say not all of your organs stay in your body during it. Anyways they took Delilah to the nursery to meet her adoring public.

A new baby can only hold the attention of a 5,2, and 1 year old for so long then they get bord and beat each other.

Delilah's brothers and sister made her this bear. It has 3 wishing stars inside of it.
They took Delilah back to the nursery for her bath. I was shaking really bad and was totally out of it so I still hadn't held her. I slept while she had her bath and all I remember was iCarley was on the tv. I told them to leave the tv on but eventually I couldn't handle iCarley anymore and told Carlye when she came to check on me to change the channel, it was a drugged mumbling and pointing but she understood.

Delilah had a perfect little square of dots by one of her eyes. I was a little disappointed that it disappeared. I thought it was kind of cute.

Finally I got to hold my baby.

I love that I have a sister that is a photographer. Thank you Carlye for taking such cute pictures.

Oh yeah! That is awesome! I had to have a nurse take pictures for me because Jason wouldn't and they wouldn't let anyone else in. She took an awesome picture of my uterus sitting on my stomach. There are some pretty gross pictures because she took some really good ones of the surgery. If you want I'll show them to you. HA! Glad everything went well! She is beautiful.

I am so happy about your little Delilah! Such a sweet looking girl! Thanks for your thoughts, I kept checking the blog to hear more and see more :) I know your crazy busy now though. Hospitals are always sooo cold, I hate it!! Is there a reason you chose to do a c-section? I love Carlye's photos too, she's amazing!

I had to do a c section with the twins because Evan was not head down and I was not going to risk trying to turn him. With this one I was planning on doing a vbac but after doing some research on it I found the risk of complications were not worth it to me so I just decided to do another c section.
