This mouse has not been as polite as the first one. With the first one we never actually saw it, just heard it. This one came running out while I was eating lunch one day and then decided he was safe enough to run around all the time. And for some reason my dogs did nothing about it. It also has been making messes. Including getting into my bird seed. I was not happy about that.
Well like every fairytale this one has a tragedy, Hazel's friend got caught in a glue trap. I was doing the laundry and I heard a noise behind the garbage can. I knew it was the mouse and I was relived to find it stuck in the trap I had put back there for the first mouse we had. Luckily Hazel was asleep in bed. I noticed it just had it's back foot stuck so I thought maybe I could just take it outside and maybe let it go. While I was moving the trap (with the handle of a broom) it slipped and fell all the way into the glue. I felt so bad. Again I kept apologizing and telling it why it could not live in our house. It really was cute.
The next day I told Hazel we caught her mouse friend and let it go outside to live with the other mouses, yes I lied to her. It started snowing and she was very worried about the mouse and I told her it probably found a nice warm tree to live in, yes another lie but it made her feel better.
This story does have a happy ending, we don't have a mouse in our house anymore. That makes me happy.
On a little side note, we got a new bed. We are very excited about this. Me and Isaac have slept on a full size bed our whole marriage. Me and Isaac, two dogs and an occasional child have slept in that little bed for 6 years. I was complaining to my mom about it and she brought up that my grandparents had a king size bed in their house that had not been used in 2 years. She talked to them about it and they gave it to us and my dad helped us move it to our house. I love that thing. I still wake up on the edge of the bed because the dogs love the extra room too and they stretch out and push me over.
