Teederbee

I thought I would give you all an update on how Teederbee the guinea pig is doing. First thing I have to say if you are thinking I was crazy to get another thing for this house that eats and poops you have to understand that I love animals. I was always the child that found stray animals and wanted to keep them. That is how we ended up with Maggie our first dog and I couldn't sleep for days after she died. I am allergic to cats but would still play with the Strom's cats until my eyes would swell shut. I am friends with both our next door neighbor dogs but I can't even tell you the names of their owners. I just love animals. I promised Isaac that when we got the guinea pig that I would make sure his cage was always clean and I have kept that promise. Hazel is in charge of getting him fresh water every day and giving him his food (I give him his hay because that gets messy) she also has to take him out of his cage once a day and play with him. She has been very good at taking care of her pet and really loves him. She is funny to listen to because she says stuff like "What are you doing little guy" and "you are the prettiest guinea pig ever". She is so funny. His cage is in her room and he gets excited when Hazel comes in to go to bed. He pops around his cage as I read her story and then settles down to go to sleep when I leave.
The twins love him. Evan really loves all animals. I honestly think he will be a vet when he grows up. When I get Teederbee out they both try to give him kisses. I don't let their mouths actually touch him. The twins don't get to see him much so I have found he is an instant melt down stopper. They stop crying as soon as I set them down in front of his cage. Erick sometimes has total melt downs when he gets too tired and so far the only thing I have found to calm him down quickly has been visiting Teederbee.
The dogs are still trying to adjust. They have to stay outside if Teederbee is out of his cage. When I introduced him to the dogs Lady of course thought he was a puppy (he does kind of look like a newborn puppy) and she tried to give him a bath. Other than that she doesn't care much about him. Bella on the other hand is now obsessed with him. She always follows me in Hazel's room and barks and scratches at Teederbee's cage. Teederbee likes to tease her and run around the cage. At first I thought he was scared and was trying to get away until one day he came right up to Bella and through the bars put his little nose right up to hers! I realized he was playing with her. Bella's tail is usually wagging so she enjoys it too. I am just afraid she will hurt him. She has nipped at him if I am holding him but she is a very jealous little dog and doesn't like me to give anyone else attention.
So things are going great and he is now a valued member of our crazy family.
