We went to Fit Well (the place who makes the helmet and does the alterations) this week to get Erick's helmet checked and they were wondering why Erick had been in his helmet so long. The guy did some measurements and just said Erick's head was growing slow. The helmet doesn't push his head into shape it just stops his head from growing in certain spots so the flat spots can grow out. So if his head is growing slow it is going to take a long time. They took pictures the day he got fitted for the helmet so the guy at Fit Well wanted to see the pictures and compare his head now to back then. He had them printed out and gave them to us so I thought I would show you all the difference. I think it looks a ton better.

looks better to me! Will they make a bigger helmet, or if he stops wearing it will it go to normal now? It looks pretty good. . .
No we won't get a bigger helmet. The goal with the helmet was to get his head as round as possible and then when he stops wearing it his head will just grow like a normal kid. At our last appointment with the doctor he said it was up to us when we wanted to stop and we decided the other day we were done. It was rubbing on his head and causing a raw spot. We could have taken him into fit well to get it fixed but we discussed it and decided we are happy with how his head looks. We go to the doc again next week and we are thinking we will just tell him we are done wearing the helmet. His head will always be a little flat on that side but nobody is perfect.
Looks good!
